Meditation
Meditate >verb 1.Focus ones mind for a time for spiritual purposes or for relaxation.
I love to Meditate. As a stress relief, then Meditating is definitely on my list of things to try whenever I am worn out, exhausted, tense, irritable; it’s a tool that works for me. I will just look at the above Dictionary’s definition of the two types it mentions and share what I like on each.
For Spiritual purposes I like Sahaja Yoga meditation which is all about awakening the Kundalini energy (the all-knowing life force) that resides in all of us. It focus’ on the Subtle body which we cannot see but know is there and the Chakra system. Wow did I get a natural high doing this! I would tingle, especially around my head. I did a 10 session course on it and really enjoyed the experience, pure bliss!
For Relaxation purposes I love nothing more than to take my little Net Book with me into the bedroom, lie down and plug in my ear-phones and listen to one of the many MP3 Guided Meditations and relaxations that I have downloaded. I especially like the ones with music in the background while listening to the speaker. I don’t mind whether it is a male or female voice; I just love to sit back and just listen. I usually end up drifting off to sleep before it’s finished but that’s ok, that is my body telling me that I need the rest.
I think lots of people who suffer with stress and/or anxiety could really benefit from doing some form of meditation. It slows your breathing down and therefore a fast beating heart and it reduces the stress hormone Cortisol along with reducing Adrenaline in the body. It really is a good tool.
Whether you opt for the Spiritual side of it or the Relaxation side of it, both are Meditating as in the dictionary definition Finding styles that suit you is important. I have just mentioned a couple but rest assured there is plenty of variety out there whether you buy a CD, download an MP3 or do a Course on it.
I will always Meditate because for me it works and because I love it!

[...] Meditating (mybyeworld.wordpress.com) [...]
I have all the respect in the world for people who can meditate. I cannot shut my mind up long enough to type a sentence let alone focus on nothing. If there is an exact opposite of meditating then it’s what I do every single minute of every single day.
Hey H.E. There are all kinds of meditating. It all isn’t about focusing on nothing-shit I can’t even do that, there is so much out there. Guided relaxations you just listen to soothing music and a speaker that guides you through a meditation. There are misconceptions about what meditation actually is and all I can say is there is a diverse range. I will at a later date put some links up to some guided meditation sites that are free just to introduce people to it if they like. Thanks for the comment xx
